iQOO Neo 8 Pro Launched: The New Flagship Killer?

iQOO Neo 8 Pro

As expected, iQOO had a very special event in China today. The company unveiled the new iQOO Neo 8 series, iQOO Pad, and new TWS Air Pro earbuds. The iQOO Neo 8 duo certainly stole the spotlight offering powerful specs at a reasonable price. The iQOO Neo 8 Pro arrives as the world’s first smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset.

iQOO Neo 8 and 8 Pro key specs and features

The Dimensity 9200+ is MediaTek’s latest chipset for the flagship market. The new chipset comes with higher frequencies for extra horsepower. The Prime Cortex-X3 core is clocked at an impressive 3.35 GHz and comes alongside 3 x ARM Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 3.0 GHz plus 4 x ARM Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0 GHz. The new chipset also brings the ARM Immortalis G715 GPU with ray-tracing support. Interestingly, the first Geekbench 6 results show the device outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Obviously, we will need to wait and see how the device will stand in real-world tests.

The iQOO Neo 8 Pro comes with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The chipset also enables the phone to work on Wi-Fi 7 networks. There is a huge 5002 mm² vapor chamber to ensure temperatures will be low on this chipset. The vanilla iQOO Neo 8 packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The hardware of the vanilla is not on par with the 2022 flagships, but this is still better than most of the mid-range phones in the market.
