Windows 12 is trying to destroy Apple Mac with ARM Chips and AI

Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio Launched - Windows 12

It seems that Microsoft has some ambitious plans in the works, as recent job postings suggest that the company is looking to create its own ARM chips. The goal? To take on Apple in the world of hardware. This move would be part of the same momentum that is driving the development of Windows 12, which is set to be boosted by artificial intelligence.

While the development of Windows 12 is proceeding slowly but surely, Microsoft is also looking to beef up its hardware game in a big way. According to reports, the company has created an internal team called the Microsoft Silicon Team to address this issue. This team will work with enterprise partners to catch up with Windows machines.

Although most of the job postings have since been deleted, they were quite explicit in terms of the missions they described. The roles covered everything from system-on-chip assignments to high-performance, high-bandwidth designs.

One job posting in particular stood out, as it specifically mentioned that the company was looking for a lead silicon system-on-chip architect with experience in high-performance SoC architecture and in the architecture and design of CPUs and GPUs. This person would be responsible for creating complex, state-of-the-art SoCs. As well as for creating SoC programming models and clear and complete SoC performance requirements. And working with the hardware and software teams.

All of this suggests that Microsoft is looking to take on Apple in the field of ARM chips, with the ultimate goal of offering powerful and durable machines under its own brand or through its partners. But that’s not all: Windows Latest reports that Windows 12 is set to be doped with artificial intelligence. And these hardware optimizations could contribute to the creation of this AI-centric platform.

Microsoft is also increasing its efforts around AI. Both with the new Bing and through some of its applications such as Word, Outlook and Teams. All in all, it looks like Microsoft has big plans in the works. And we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the years to come. The release of Windows 12 will take place in 2024, so stay tuned!
